Sand question

I am wondering how many people that live by the ocean get their substrate from the beach. I am getting ready to set up a new tank and want smaller grain substrate for my tank. This was just a thought I had. I am also looking into Yardright tropical play sand. I have been reading that it is the same thing as the Southdown tropical playsand. Any info on this would be helpful.

i know most beaches (depending where you are at) are silica sand. I know some people that use and it have great experience with it. yet i also know alot of people who use aragonite sand, like the southdown, because it is a buffer.
with the play sand stuff you have to make sure it says from the carribean or what you could do is take some vinegar and pour it on , if it fizzles then it is true aragonite.
