Sand Question

I have about 100 lbs again of unused dry sand that used to be in a salt water tank. its clean and there is no salinity showing up when i add water to it deep enough to fill my salinity meter.

The question, with no salinity and the sand being cleaned can this sand be used in a freashwater tank?

Chef, I've heard that using sand in a freshwater tank is a major pain because it really never settles and just makes the water always look murky. But like I said don't qoute me on that because it's just what I heard.

chef, also there are issues with what kind of FW fish you keep.
theres a very good chance the sand will prevent your PH from being a stable 7.0... which is what you need for most FW.

African cichlids should be cool w/ it but many of the FW stuff will not handle it.
