I am looking at getting a sand sifting goby. I would like to get a golden head sleeper. In your opion what is the best sifter?

Ive had the golden sleeper goby but never make it past couple months for some reason. Ive heard not very hardy. But in the other hand I currently have a diamond goby that Ive had for almost 2 yrs now. And he keeps my sand very clean.

I'd go with a diamond goby, excellent hard working sifter, stays low too and doesn't bring the sand up into the water current covering corals....

Golden Headed Sleeper gobies will create sand storms, deplete your sand bed of desirable organisms, then starve.

+1 on this. Mine died exactly two nights ago after having him for two months. He was fun to watch for the first week, then I got tired of blowing the sand off of all my corals every day. He would eat other food when I fed my fish (Myses, Bloodworms, brine), but started getting skinny a few weeks ago, so I knew his time was coming.

Cool fish, but I will never get another one.

What about this gobie: amblygobius phalaena, Dragon Gobie, Brownbarred Gobie. From what I see they sift the sand, eat some alage, and meaty foods?

Its so often that you hear about starving gobies but my yellow headed goby has been with me for almost 2 years now

He sifts through the sand and eats pellets, flakes and mysis as well
