sand sifting shrimp?

are s.s.shrimp okay for a reef? i think they would be but will they be eating all of the good stuff in the sand?

They'd be killing off the live sand, but that might be okay. What species did you have in mind?

well i already have it and im not sure which kind it is but its the size of a large cleaner and is tan almost see through with brown markings. it digs into the sand and buries itself and then comes out a few hours later. it swims up to the top of the tank and all over. when i bought it they just called it a sand sifting shrimp
