sand sifting stars

I have 2 stars that are on my glass instead of in the sand is this a common practice or is there a problem?

mine go from the sand to glass and back.

I got a "sand-sifting" cuke several weeks ago, and after acclimation, I put him on the sand. Seems logical, right? He went to the glass and LR, and hasn't been back to the sand.

I figure these reef scavengers go where the food is. At least you get to see more of your stars!

mine just like to hide in the sand but go on the glass to feed

it is completely normal for them to go and feed on the glass from time to time when they canot find food in the sand.

I have had a few and seem to do both, just how they feel that day. i would say they spent 60% in sand 40% on glass

i wish mine came out i bought 4 sand stars and i can never find them i explore the tank to make sure there not somewhere dead.. but there either under the sand or the live rock..
