its kind of too late to ask now but how are sandscrabs for mantis food. i was at the beach and brought back a few. My little guy only got the one i skewered yesterday. but two others were released into the tank and as i just looked in to see how he was he was holding another battered sandcrab. Are they a decent food or is that a bad idea?

i put them in my tank and occasionally i see my p. cilata holding one and chowing away! i think they are okay food, and before they are killed, they sift the sand, and i THINK (my theory) they filter the water somewhat!

i did see one feeding last night, it does look like they filter things out of the water, their feeding appendage looks alot like a porcelean crabs'

well i know for a fact that they are filter feeders, what i meant was that i think they might help a tank with algae bloom clear up, my lobster loves to eat them, but only one of my p. cilatas eats them
