Sanding glass edges?

Anyone know if any of the local hardware stores carry what i would need to sand the edges on a cut pane of glass? Sand paper? Sanding block? Never done it so im not sure what to look for.

Last time I got glass cut the guy used a regular disk sander on the edges. He just hit them real quick. It looked like regular paper from where I was standing. Maybe somewhere around 200 grit.

I work with glass for a living. You can just use some sand paper 220 is about as course as you want to go. I think some 100 grit would work well.

The finer you go the less rough the edge will look

I'm pretty sure the lower the number the rougher the paper is . 200+ will give you a smoother edge. Might even wanna finish with some 400 or so wet sandable paper.

A home depot or True value will have every thing you need.

What's it for a sump baffle? How thick is the glass? When you are done will it no longer be sharp?

No its for a 10 gallon i de rimmed that i got free at the all pets emporium grand opening on saturday. Also i made a top for my fluval chi because some of my tetras jumped ship.

I recently built a diy sump with glass cut at Lowes. To remove the sharp edges I used 120grit dry, then 320grit dry followed by 600grit wet. Came out smooth. Just remember to use rubber gloves :)

Ok so after some 120, 320, 400 , and finally some 1500. I think it came out pretty well. Not sharp anymore thats for sure.
