Sandpoint ORP and PH controller

Some old retiring hobbyist gave me a Sandpoint ph/opr monitor and controller.

What are in the science of PH and ORP probes? Can I make my own probes? They are BNC connections. I have BNC connecters and coaxial cable that will fit physically.

A probe from a difference manufacturer would work?

Yes, any pH probe that will connect via the BNC is interchangeable.

Same is basically true for an ORP probe, assuming it is a standard type with a built in reference electrode.

Neither, however, is a DIY to make a probe. They are pretty complex inside.
