I am really liking the vortech pump but am concerned about the flow as I am planning on using a sand bed. Will I have a sandstorm in my 120 gallon tank using two of these pumps? I do plan on having a fair amount of lps corals but will definately have some sps corals as well.
It all depends on where you place the pumps, the mode you use and the depth of your sandbed. If they start pushing to much water, you can turn them down. I have 3 of them in my 330 and the sand did move around some, but it has now settled down.
No problem. I change my settings every now and then, just for something different. Although you can set them and forget them, every now and then something different is okay <G>
I have 2 on my back wall about 6 inched from the water surface. If I turn it up over 3/4 the sand at the front of my tank will slowly migrate back, leaving a bald spot at the front. No "sandstorn" but over a few days the bald spot will appear.
