dang......so what is the best lfs to go to in birmigham?
I've had good experiences with Tropical Pet Cove in Alabaster. I generally just go in on the first weekend of the month for the buy 3 get 1 free coral sale.
Aquarium Imports in Hoover has the most knowledgeable staff but their livestock selection lacks. They always tell me "Our order came in yesterday and it is all gone" or "We are expecting a large order tomorrow" Their hours coincide with my work hours so I don't get there much.
I have not had such good experiences at Aquarium Designs in Pelham. I seem to be invisible when I go in the door - I have been in several times that I couldn't get anyone to acknowledge me or even ask if I need help.
I like Valley Pets in Oxford and recently made the trip to Coral Reef Aquatics in Athens. Aquarium Fantasies in Montgomery has a good selection but the owner leaves much to be desired.

Woah, man. Don't be so harsh. B'ham doesn't suck that bad... I've been to a lot suckier places!
Aquarium Designs can be like that. Sometimes ya just gotta slap Sean to get his attention... Now if you ever visited the Patton Creek location, sorry if you felt ignored. We were usually very busy. Too many tanks and to few employees with too little filtration makes for a lot of manual cleaning.
