Hey everybody, sorry the email is about a week late. This month's
meeting will be held in bartlesville at the house of Shane Warman.
Here is his information

This month, our discussion will be on aquarium setups, do's and
dont's, and little tips and tricks of keeping and maintaining a
healthy aquarium at your home. There are plenty of members in our
club that have gone through trials and tribulations(some more than
others) setting up and keeping their tanks healthy. From talking to
shane, he has had a few problems that he has recently corrected, so im
sure he will be more than happy to chime in and give us some
information on what he did to fix it.
For everybody's information, the frag drive is next month. A few
rules have changed with the frag drive this year. We will be doing a
$5 dollar buy in to participate in the frag drive. If you have a
family membership, you can pay an additional $5 to get a second round
of corals. There will be a punch card or tickets provided to be given
at every table that you take a coral from. This is only for people
who plan on taking corals from the meeting, and of course the meeting
is open to all members, current and new, to watch the fragging
demonstration put on by Scott at Aquarium Oddballs. If you have
friends who have started to keep aquariums, this is a great time to
introduce them to the club and get some valuable knowledge about
corals and coral propagation. The march frag drive is also the time
for membership renewals. The membership dues have gone up slightly as
well, to provide for better givaways, better corals, and more
opportunities for the club to pursue. The new dues are $30 for an
individual, and $45 for a family membership.
I hope everybody is learning a ton of great information from the
meetings. There are plenty of seasoned reefers in our club and even
more hiding in the woodwork. Thank you to everybody who shows up to
the meetings and makes this club what it is. The raffle is what keeps
us going and able to provide cool goodies and get bigger and better
things for the club. I would love to see the club get back to being
able to give away things like reefkeepers, and other expensive gadgets
for our tanks.
We are also trying to organize a critter group buy. The buy will
only consist of things like turbo snails, astrea snails, dove snails,
nassarius snails, trochus snails, and red and blue leg hermit crabs.
I will have to get more details from Scott at Oddballs about pricing,
but we will not be ordering any crazy critters like conchs..etc... We
have to have feedback from everybody on interest in doing this group
buy, and will try to organize it for either the march or april
meeting.
Thank you to everybody who takes time to read these emails.
Please contact me or any other board member with your feedback about
the meetings and our group buy we are trying to organize. You can
reach me at mutateddogb...@yahoo.com with a critter list if you would
like to participate in the buy, or have any other questions about the
club.
