Alright, i wanted to upgrade my firmware so my PH probe could take advantage of the automatic adjustments durring calibration.

When I try to save my settings, I get an error saying is cant find the destination?

The other save option works, but not the one i need to do before upgrading the firmware.

Is there a way around this error, or do i need to write down my settings, upgrade firmware, and then manually reset all my settings?

this is strange

what is "newest"? ProfiLuxCOntrol 4.0.5? Please check the "about" dialog

can you post a screenshot - I would like to see what happens exactly

Here is the screen shot of the error.

Do a fresh uninstall and re install version 4.05, I just look and I have the definition file in version 4.05

i just installed 4.0.5

im trying to match the FW and SW.

However i want to save my settings first.

ive done it 3 times now.

i did uninstall the older software first.

so reload version 4.1 then save, then uninstall 4.1, then install 4.5, then update firmware, then load saved file?

ive give it a whirl.

no, you don't need to uninstall and then downgrade

The file "ParaList_V401..." is part of the 4.0.5 installation.

The question is: Why has your paramter definition file disappeared?
Was it a bad installation (e.g. no admin rights)?
Can you check the ProfiLuxControl directory (under programs) with the windows explorer? There must be all parameter definition files.

then something is wrong with the registry entries

!Did you have admin rights during installation?

there must be a registry entry under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GHL\ProfiLuxControl II\V405
with the name "BinDir" and the path to ProfiLuxControl
e.g. "C:\Programs\ProfiLuxControl II V4050"

Yes, I had full Admins rights.

when i get home, ill check into it, and post a screen shot.

I do want to point out that I was able to correct the problem i had a few weeks ago with the software crashing everytime i used it. It was an out of date USB driver.
