an update to my old, old thread.
http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1872871
So its been about 2 year now. Yes I know that is a really long time to update a thread. Iv seen way to meany threads on here where they stop and no one knows what ever happened as they turn into cyber dust.
What I remember/read is I had the tank up and going for about 8 months at the new ( old ) house I moved into.
A friend of my roommate at the time, was cleaning out her wayyyy over run cube and removing the sump due to her husband crying about how " loud " the water sounded.
I added the new rock/ plants/ fish into my tank. That's when it slowly went down hill.
( I was able to find the old pictures of it.)
This was after I spent two days cleaning and scrubbing rocks
And the only picture I could find before I moved 4 months ago, into the New house.
Any time it would pop back up I would just remove it. I left the tank alone and everything grew back, I only added fish and a carpet.
The last time I moved the tank, I had to take it down two flights of stairs and the guy who helped pretty much manhandled the tank so the sand bed killed itself, along with the drive across town.
so now we are in the recovery step again all though its coming back much faster now.
I do miss my back wall being completely covered in GSP.
What I have learned from this, Is stay on top of growth, and don't mess with the tank!
I can not stress that enough I had my loco salt water reef store tell me to do water changes, add this, do this, clean this, dose more of this... and It made everything stressed.
I learned to leave it alone! I do water changes once a month and I never had any problem besides topping off my water with RO. Its what I have found works the best for me.
( sorry for the bad pictures, they are yet again from my phone. )
