I am coming to the realization that we might have some of the best local variety for Zoo's when these eagle eyes seem to be a STL common and command a high price on the open market.

I have some that I need to clear out. In comparison should I let them grow out more and sell small colonies of 20-30 polyps or sell what I call fraggs of 10-15 polyps.

What would I try to sell these for on the open market, since I know locally they are fairly easy to come by.

If you are selling locally, I recommend selling in the larger colonies since as you pointed out many people around here already have them. Although I've sold small frags of 10 or so a few times and it was rather easy to move them.

do you have a pic of yours so i can decide what i have as i have about 100+ polyps of something close to the eagle eye's. but a little less blue as opposed to being more orange.

That Ahole got them from me about 4-5 months ago. He pulled the starving student bit on me and I sent those plus a nice colony of green dragon eyes(200 polyps) and a bunch more for $85 shipped over night.
In his PM's he stated he was REALLY into zoos, which I have plenty of, so I sent him a bunch of really nice stuff-just trying to help a new zoo guy out and grow his collection.
Within 3 weeks he was trying to sell the exact same ones for insane amount of jack-claiming he was taking down his tank???. That thread was deleted soon after it posted, but he was back at it within a few months with other threads. If you search his threads he does this quite a bit.

I dont want to sound jaded, but when I sell stuff now, I do not let sob stories and excitment about a species of coral determine what I will throw in for free. If it is someone local, and they can catch me, then that is a different story.

Levon the EE are not that rare, but not too common either. Consider them a Mercedes, not a Toyota Camry, but not a RR Bently.
There are a few guys local that trade them quite a bit at MS and CPE form their brood stock and that is why we see more of them local.

You have a nice collection keep growing them out. I think around $1 per polyps is fair for EE IMHO, for a tank raised nudi free frag-but $3 is nuts considering he paid me about 10cents per polyp. Good luck

Yeah that really sux when jerks do that. To me if your a starving student (whatever) then your in the WRONG hobby. Personally I think everybody and their brother has them by now. They grow like crazy. I also think the picture of the eagle eyes has been photoshoped to the max as well. Mine look really nice but not THAT nice.

I usually sell 10 polyp frags for 20 bux btw. Anybody that wants some can PM me btw.

I have to admit that when I first saw read it I thought you were going off on Levon15 for having done that to you and I thought wow we may get to see a virtual fight here in the reef playground.

By the way, geoxman is a prince. He got me some badly needed chaeto a few weeks back and we agreed to meet in Clayton but when I was running late he just stood at a street corner and tossed a bag of what could easily have been mistaken for something else that comes in plastic baggies into my car as I drove by. I trust you didn't get arrested since I didn't get a call from you. Thanks again.

I know how much I paid for them and how much they go for on the internet. To many good people have been nice to me in this hobby for me to overcharge on a coral.

I was simply stating that I guess what others think of as worth money and expensive (i.e. $100 for 35 EE zoo's) is common for us in the STL. Thats really all I was saying.

I asked if colonies or frags would be better to sell and I mentioned since I know locally everyone pretty much has these bad boys what should I chage for them when I attempt to sell to reefcentral folks abroad. (i.e. I dont wanna rip people off but I dont wanna get taken)
