Hi All,
I'm a fellow Delawarian(if that's a word), got a pm from Jocephus. telling me about this Reef Club. I would really like to become a member if it's possible. Would appreciate any info.
Thanks,
Andy

Hey, welcome to the forum and hopefully to the club. Details are on this page: http://www.delreefclub.org/ Don't worry about officially becoming a member or paying any dues till you come to one of the meetings. Ken is our president, he will be at the meeting and you can talk to him about membership.

Meanwhile we have lots of people new to the forum that have been talking with us this summer.(we don't meet in the summers) Tell us about your set up. Feel free to chime in the other threads if you have an tips or insight on anything. Once again welcome.

Jon aka Gordonious

Thanks for the welcome. I'll check out the site you posted.
My setup is a 65G w/18g sump. I'm running (2) 400W MH 20K XM with (2) 96 w VHO and moonlights. Have a Aqua C 180 for a skimmer, Reeftek Calcium Reactor and Nielson Reactor. Chiller, OM Squirt, and a Phosban Reactor with Carbon.
I have a pretty hectic schedule, but look foward to the meetings.
Andy

Andy,

Glad you found your way here. Let me know if you ever want to ride up to a meeting, I'm in Dover, so is emonemo, we can 'pool... Welcome to the club!

PS. Got any pics?

Tried posting a pic. No luck.
Thanks for the ride offer. Hopefully we can set up a carpool.
I know I won't be able to make the meeting in Sept bcause I will be out of town on business. I do want to make the following one for sure.

Hi everyone. I am also in Dover and just started my 65 gal Reef Tank three months ago. I have been looking to meet someone from Dover that knows a little bit more than I do about SWF for awhile now. Could use lots of advise and maybe some Corals too.

Hi, I'm in Dover too. There are a lot of really nice folks in the reef club, I'm sure any questions you have can be answered here. What type of set-up are you running?

Andy has, "My setup is a 65G w/18g sump. I'm running (2) 400W MH 20K XM with (2) 96 w VHO and moonlights. Have a Aqua C 180 for a skimmer, Reeftek Calcium Reactor and Nielson Reactor. Chiller, OM Squirt, and a Phosban Reactor with Carbon. " ;-)

I am aware of what Andy wrote. ;-)

I was replying to the post immediately above mine. Thank you, though.

no skimmer! no sump! thats not a reef tank, thats a disaster in progress since i got my sump i cant believe the crap that ends up down there... i would look into a sump for sure.. a skimmer isnt required but in a reef tank its highly recommended id look into it right after adding a sump

I had a SW tank for years wth no sump, or skimmer. Not the best, but you can add as you go. Give me a call, I have a crappy skimmer you can have until you get a better one. And if you decide to get a sump, I can help you out there too. Good to see some new faces this way. And stay clear of the fish bowl (bubbling cauldron of death).

Money is kind of tight at the moment, but as soon as do, I will get one. As for a sump, I have an extra 20 Gal that I want to turn into a sump but don't know how.

Thanks for the offer, I might just take you up on it. Especially the sump part. Is your skimmer a HOT type or in-sump :-).

If you can help me setup the sump, then I will buy an in-sump skimmer.

My name is Joe as well, and I live in Magnolia.

Call me any time you want to get together. Since I setup this tank, I no longer have a life outside of it. I work Monday-Friday and will be at home all day on Saturday.

Thanks and nice to meet you all.

Joe,

Give me a call whenever you want to, I have what you need for the sump. The skimmer is a HOB, but you could certainly use it in the sump as well. I'll be unavailable tonight due to the Bears game :-) But any other time is fine. I usually get home around 5:30 M-F
