I've tried maracyn 1 and maracyn 2 (2 full doses of each, 10 days total) in order to combat the fin/tail splitting on my purple firefish and blue spotted jawfish. It cured the fin/tail rot on the purple fire fish, however it has not helped the condition of my blue spotted jawfish at all. I believe this is a case of a hardy strain of bacteria and wanted to move over to a stronger/different antibiotic. I dont' know what else it could be because there are no visible growth, my blue spotted jawfish is simply losing his scales to the point he is 3/4 white and i noticed two small bloody pinholes on one side of his body. His tail and right fin are split and his left eye has a translucent film on it.
