Scans and what to feed them

So I was at Studio Blue and I found some frags. They had a deal on them 3 for $20. Cool so I got 6 frags. I got an Acan in there and I am not sure what to feed him. He is looking good now. I have him under a rock out of direct light but not sure what to feed him?

I feed mine mysis, LRS reef frenzy, pellets, or reef roid slurry whenever I'm in the mood. Sometimes I'll go a couple months without feeding and they'll be fine. Once a week would be a good target.

Do you noticed that much of a growth difference between when you feed directly and why you don't?

Hmmm, interesting question. You would think they'd grow faster, but honestly I don't pay much attention to them. As long as they look happy, I'm happy. There has been definite growth though. Can't say whether from feeding or not.

You dont have to feed them as lo m g as you feed your fish it will grab whatbif floating around. If you do feed it then it will grow much faster and they tend to just look and do better overall. Target feeding once a week to a couple times a month is a good goal. Mysis, brine, well soaked pellet foods, plankton krill, Reef Roids, Reef Chilli, Coral Frenzy, Coral Delite, rotifers, cyclopeez, baby brine, fish eggs are all eaten buy acans and most other lps corals. I was never a big fan of phytoplankton, imo its good for filter feeders the do need to ne fed but not consumed much by lps. My other issues with phyto is every time I used it I would have green film algae on the glass for a few days that needed daily cleaning and imo 90% of what is fed ends up in the skimmer cup.
