Scarlet Cleaner Shrimp death unknown.

So I look in my tank today and see that the Scarlet Shrimp is lying very still on the floor back corner, in the upright position, but not in his usual upside down under the rocks location. I moved the glass cleaner around - he is clearly dead.

So I remove him and take a closer look. He had been the victim of an isopod attack several weeks ago, and had one attached to his side for a little while. He was successfully operated on, and has been happy ever since.

But upon closer inspection, I see the following:

You can still see the scar on the side from the isopod, but take a look at his tail

The rest of the inhabitants seem to be happy and looking well.
Purple Firefish
Diamond Watchman Goby
Clowns - Ocellaris,
Six Line Wrasse

The parameters on the weekend were good: Even did the usual Water change.

I cant quite figure out why it look likes his tail got burnt off!? Any Ideas - someone had an experience like this?

I can't answer your question, however I am surprised that you found a dead critter in your tank. -I usually notice a creature gone but never see its body since the CUC already have taken care of it. . . Within hours.
So, do you have a CUC in your tank?? I think that you should, for the health of your tank. . .
Sorry for your loss. . . . All critters go to heaven . .

Hmm... Good point, maybe the lesson is cuc. I haven't intentionally added anything.

Did you only have one Isopod or were there more in your tank? Any idea how it got there?

I lost a cleaner shrimp a few weeks ago, never found the body. It was consumed within 1-2 days tops.

Was just the one isopod. Haven't seen any since. I think I got it like that from the Lfs already, and possibly didn't see it..
