Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp

So i woke this morning to find all my fish memorializing my scarlet skunk shrimp. (they were huddled around his corpse). I noticed yesterday that he didnt eat when i fed the tank (which he is usually more aggressive than the all 5 fish in the tank when it comes to food) and I found it unusual. no parameters have changed from my normal running params, anybody have any clues as to why he may have kicked it?

how long do these shrimp live? thanks!

Are you sure he didn't shed his exoskeleton? Mine does the same thing before he sheds. He becomes less active and doesn't eat a day or two before he sheds.

It might have molted. They tend to find some shade for at least 24 hours or so after this has happened.

no, he's dead. he's molted many times before. this was a corpse, I've had him for about a year now (since he was a little tyke, he was almost 3 inches prior to his porcelain burial)

Any possibility of copper contamination?

My first one lasted a little over a year. Got him almost full grown. The one I have now is 1 yr old now, but got him when he was tiny. Not sure how long they live. Sorry for your loss, I love my pet shrimp. They have awesome personality.
