Dennis Apio will be giving a presentation on clownfish
breeding and rearing, which will begin promptly at
1 pm so please arrive early so we can begin the presentaion
on time.

Updated membership cards will be ready for everyone
who has submitted their information, even if you already
have a card this one will replace it. If you have not yet
submitted you information please refer to this thread:

The office I work for recently moved and I was given the job of getting rid of excess computer items. We had more of the Tripp Lite Power strips than we needed so I talked my boss into giving them to me for door prizes at our next meeting. Here is a link to what they look like.

These are rack mountable but can easily be retro fitted to work anywhere.

As an FYI...this guest speaker has a tight schedule and this date was the only one we could get him on. As for recroding the presentation I am sure that can be done.

NCAA Regional Hockey Tournament is that weekend. We have been planning on going but haven't gotten tickets yet so I may make it to the meeting.

Hockey fans be prepaired, next year Denver is hosting the finals.

It sounds like a lot of people aren't going to make it. Just a thought but, is the speaker charging anything for this event?
If so I would think a new date would be better, if it's free then I guess it's not a big deal if there is a low turnout, other than the missing members not benefiting from the talk.

In the future I think a poll could be posted on here. You could list 2 or 3 dates for the next meeting with people selecting 1 or selecting "any" as their choice. I know there will always be conflicting schedules but since this is a pretty loose club as far as formality goes it seems like accommodating everyone would be the ultimate goal with a meeting. You could post the poll 2 weeks before each meeting maybe.

Or what about consistently doing the 3rd Saturday of each month? I know a lot of other hobby clubs work it that way, so you always know how to plan your month that way?

I know with the speakers schedule that could'nt happen this time but I'm saying for future meetings anyway.

Typically our meeting are Saturdays...always actually they are Saturdays. This speaker is not charging the club anything, so it is at his discretion as to when he can do it. We could have scheduled it for another Sunday, BUT we would have the same issues. Like I said, we can work out an option to record the speaker, and I'm sure there will still be a fair turnout in the end.

I think our system of setting meetings is working fine and doesn't need tinkering, this is an exception for someone who is going to do us a favor, so please keep this thread to whether or not folks can make it. I don't want our speaker to see this and feel like his efforts ore not appreciated.

trust me...if it had worked out for a Saturday, then that is the day we would have had it.

This will be a very informative meeting and I hope that those of you who do have plans try your best to atleast come for the guest speaker portion which will be from 1-2pm.

again i would love to come but just cant because of it being on a sunday....just sux cause i really would like to get my membership card. If we have the speaker recorded and listen to that does it count as 1 meeting!!!! lol that would be nice!

As for food...I think it would be nice if we could all sign up to bring something. I'll kind of leave it at the hosts discretion as to what he would like us to bring, i.e. is there a grill, do you want us to bring cold cuts, etc...

I'm hoping to finally make it to this meeting, as long as my car makes it to the Springs.

My intake gasket is leaking coolant again and it could get worse and overheat at any time. My car isn't worth adding another $800-1000, so I think I'll be looking for a new vehicle.
