Some people may have overlooked the sticky at the top of the SoCal forum, so I am posting here too.

Hi Everyone,
tomorrow is the big day!
we will be having a BBQ, water barrel workshop, and a number of discussions regarding other reef-related equipment
I've acquired a number of 55-gallon barrels for the workshop project, as well as necessary parts for whoever wants to make either an RO water storage barrel, or a saltwater mixing barrel.
They will be offered on a "first-come-first-served" basis until we run out. If you wish to build a water/mixing barrel at the workshop, then I suggest you be here at noon to purchase/claim one.
Prices will range anywhere from $20 - $50, depending on the configuration you choose (there are a number of different parts/configurations possible)
Examples:
a $20 setup is simply a blue 55-gal. barrel, 1" slipxslip bulkhead fitting, 1" slip ballvalve, and 1" slip PVC elbow for the pourspout
a $50 setup includes a white 55-gal. barrel, threaded 1" bulkhead fitting, 1-1/4" threaded ballvalve, 1-1/4" Threaded PVC elbow/pour-spout, auto float valve, and 13-piece holesaw kit to take home.
There are various other possible configurations in-between.
There will of course be other topics covered tomorrow, but they will be demonstrations/discussions only, not actually building anything. A "show-and-tell" if you will.
Looking forward to seeing everyone
