Scoly behavior

Every three months or so, my scoly seems to almost shed itself? At first, I thought it was self destructing or ready for a fight bc of another coral in its zip code. Now I'm not so sure what causes this but it's back to normal in a day or so. Anybody else seen this happen or know what causes it? Sometimes it looks horrible!

Yes! I know exactly what you're talking about. I attributed it to poor water quality and or hunger, so I typically try to feed them and then do a water change immediately afterwards. Normally, though, the scoly will not accept food when it looks like this. And then, after a day or two, it goes back to looking pretty much normal, albeit, maybe slightly less inflated than usual.

I have absolutely no idea what causes this, but I'm glad someone else is experiencing what I am.

I too would really appreciate an explanation as to what is happening in this process.
