Scoly Feeding

i just recently bought a really nice aussie scoly, that had not been cared for properly and had receeded to about half of its original self. there is a lot of skeleton showing and its future didnt look good, however when i saw it i noticed that the remaining flesh was still inflating during the day and the oral disk was still intact. i decided to buy it because it was marked for less than 1/4 the original price and if i could nurse it back it would be a steal. now its in my tank and looking a little better than it was at the store. yesterday i decided to try and feed it and within a minute of me squirting some food over it, it had its feeder tentacles out and ready to eat. i gave it some mysis and it ate them right up. my question is how often can i feed it. i know they say you can suppliment their diet with feedings a few times a week, but can it be fed every day to try and make it stronger and grow out quicker, or should i stay with every other or every third day for feedings.

I'd say every day is a bit too much. I'd go every other day would be sufficient. Scolymia's are pretty hardy corals I think and recover quite well when fed and kept in a good system. Good luck with it.

well i have been giving mine small amounts of food every other day. once i feed the tank and it opens its feeder tentacles i use a turkey baster to squirt some mysis, blood worms, or plankton onto it. I figured smaller feedings more often will provide it with more usable nutrients than one big meal a week. but its looking much better since i put it in my tank.
