The Cynarina deshayesiana get huge (some of the ones posted here are actually Cynarina's not Scolys), but the Scolys are rarely over a few inches in diameter. My red Cynarina gets about 9" across when it's really happy.

One of mine;)

Cynarina are much much fleshier..expand much more..and tend to have a bowl shaped base...

Where as the Scolys the aussie ones that is tend to have a a thinner skeleton with less pronounced spikes..and often scolys are attached to a piece of rock..where as Cynarina it is just skeleton material on the base..(this is through my own findings) Scolys are smaller..and much flatter in appearance

Yours are definatly Cynarina Deshayesiana...but this particular species is soon to be renamed Acanthophyllia Deshayesiana..which will help clear up alot of the confusion surrounding these corals....

Hope this helps

Elliott

Thanks guys, but I guess that there are just too many similar species that looks almost alike that got me confuse always.

Anyway that's something that I always got mix up. Acan and Brain family too have many different species.;)
