People have fragged the aussies in the past, and they do succeed in getting them to live. However, it takes months if not years for it to form back into the round shape, and get all the colors back.
I think the better way to do it is for people to keep a close eye on them and see if they will brood and release babies.

OMG I really want those cynaria scoly things, they are wicked. Can someone tell me what they paid for one in their tank? I just bought my first 2 scoly's and I need to take a new pic but here they are! 68 and 47 bucks- can't beat that....maybe. Here they are right after being added into the tank:

It get's about 8-10 inches across when fully expanded. Here's a pic with normal lighting and at a somewhat smaller size (about 6"):

unfortunately a tube worm dug a hole in it's skeleton and killed it.
Was my favorite coral EVER, second being a metalic orange brain I recently lost when my tank busted a seam and splled onto the floor within 10 minutes.

Ok I'll bite. What information do you have about these specific corals that makes you say that their purchase is harming their chances of wild survival of the species?

Or perhaps the first impression you give of someone simply trolling for an argument is the correct one?

i am guessing he is saying that because we have not been able to successfully aquaculture them on a scale as something like acans. or he is simply a troll.
