Do you guys ever feel bad that you are taking such beautiful animals out of teh ocean and decreasing their chances of longterm survival in the wild?

Ok I'll bite. What information do you have about these specific corals that makes you say that their purchase is harming their chances of wild survival of the species?

Or perhaps the first impression you give of someone simply trolling for an argument is the correct one?

Seeing that you have a tank, and are a member here, I would turn the question back to you.

To anwser your question, no. Because I do not believe we are "decreasing the chances of their long term survival." Why? Because these are collected from Australia, and Australia has very strict collection protocalls to ensure the long term servival of their Coral Reefs and the many animals that live on the Reef. Australia is in control of what goes on with collection, and since their reefs are a treasure to practically the whole world, they are gonna do what they can to protect it, and they are.

If you truly have a problem with people collecting these animals for this Hobby, then you need to pick something else, try golf. This hobby has actually benefited the Coral Reefs in many ways. Why? Because it was the Hobbyiest who figured out how to propagate corals not scientists. We have done a lot for science. Plus because of my tank, I have shown my family and friends how beautiful coral and fish are first hand, now that they appreciate it more, they would be more inclinded to help protect it. (And by protect it, I don't mean ban collection).

No no.. I know I get what I pay for. But i see them here ( local ) ..maybe a 2-2.5 size good coloring for $400? And I have bought Same coloing but larger size 3-3.5 size online for a 1/3 of that price.Some of these I seen on this thread I would pay that much for ( wowieee.. Nice stuff yall ) . I guess a simple way for me to ask is. ... Where are yall buying yours from?
