Scooter blenny died

Hi all...I'm new to all of this and I'm having a hard time keeping fish alive. Last night I lost my scooter blenny. When I took his body out of the tank and turned him over his belly had a gold sheen to it...could that be velvet? He was fine the day before. Also my yellow corgis wrasse got a crazy looking bacterial infection (I'm guessing)on his mouth and fin. Now he stays under the sand and I never see him. I got a yellow tang...died.yellow eye tang...died. Both had little white spots on their fins but it wasn't hardly any spots there. Now I have two clownfish left and I'm afraid they are next to go. Please help! I'm installing a UV sterilizer today hoping it will help. I have lots of coral so traditional treatments won't work I guess. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

First how old and big is your tank? What are your water parameters? Are you quarantining anything first or just putting them in the main? There are some great stickies and info on the New to Hobby forum. IME the most important thing to do is to quarantine....everything!!!! Since you have so many fish die you will need to leave your tank fallow for weeks to kill off any parasites that have come in with the infected fish.

Don't expect much from the UV. I'd read the parasite stickies on the disease forum and wait a while before buying new fish. A QT is a must and spots on the fins are to be taken very seriously. This will make sense after you read the stickies and do lots of reading. You can't jump into this hobby without knowing this stuff. Slow down, learn, then enjoy a lifetime of this great hobby.

I have a 55 gallon. Salinity 1.022.ammonia nitrites nitrates all 0. Ph is 8.0 but it fluctuates a tiny bit. Calcium is right under 500. So I think my water is okay. I have been reading reading and reading some more but it seems like there is something new to learn each day lol. I don't have a quarantine tank and I have a empty 13 gallon I can use if that's big enough for two clownfish? Is it okay to just set it up and then move them over? At this point I'm not buying any new fish for at least six weeks to see if the ich or velvet or whatever I have cycles out its life in there. Sooo frustrating!
Thank you for your responses! I think you have convinced me to do the quarantine tank

Water looks good. The salinity could be a little higher since you have corals. I can tell you that you will never know everything about this hobby...you will always be learning:) I don't mean that as a bad thing..it's good! I've been at it over 10 years and I am still learning. The 13 gallon will be fine as a QT. Keep in mind that you will have to deal with ammonia in that tank since it does not have an established biological filter. But you can use an ammonia detoxifier or add BioSpira. I would move the clowns and be prepared to treat them with meds.

I successfully moved my two clownfish and my yellow corgis wrasse(who has a cloudy swollen eye and acts blind) to my 13 gallon qt tank. They are doing good so far! I added a general purpose marine treatment for ich, velvet and fungus. Hopefully it works. Oh and I added some micro-lift live bacteria. I'll get some ammo lock today.
Thank you so much for your help! I feel much better now that I'm able to treat and properly care for these poor fishes :)

I keep my reef at 1.025. IME the general purpose treatments that treat all diseases don't work. The stickies at the top of the forum have the tried and true remedies. I'm happy to help:)
