Why is it that I have not heard of one single person on here that has a Scopus tang? I see them all the time at many LFS.

They are quite expensive cool tang but also needs special care; untill now i have seen only twice this beauty.It is interresting that you can see them so frequently.Sorry but i dont have first hand info they are still too expensive for me....

Where are that this fish is so expensive? Here they are about the same price as a yellow tang (29.99 USD). At any rate, filamentous algae are important to this species, so be sure you have some growth in your tank to supplement what you feed. Be sure the rest of the diet is rich in algae, as well.

how agressive are these tangs normaly?

i had one, lost him to a current parasite issues in qt... nice fish bit plain looking, killed my new vegabonda butterfly which suprised me cos hed only been in the tank 3 weeks... other then that ate nori like a nutcase, dont know where they are expensive mine was cheap as, $50 aussie bucks, when yellow tangs in the same shop are $130.
i have a scopas tang in australia they are around $50-$60 how much are they in USA?
They can be very aggresive, but like alot of tangs if introduced with other tangs at the same time they may be ok together?im not really sure. But my tang is very dominant and isnt afraid to use his scapal...(barb) its amazing to see but the sideaffects are not so good, he once killed a cromis by slashing! And the LFS once introduced a yellow tang to a tank where a dominate scopas was residing, within hours it was dead....multiple cuts.
They can be quite plain but given the right conditions a they can look so beautiful, they has blue dots covering their face and up to their gills then their body has blue lines trailing back towards their tail.
They are a heavy algae eater, but will eat anything they are quite a hardy fish, i had an outbreak of whitespot in my tank and he was absolutly riddled with it the whitespot got the better of a blue tang(hippo) and a pair of occelaris! i did buy a cleaner wrasse to help get his better but i really didnt think he would pull through and he did

Around here, Scopus tangs run about 25$ for a small 1-2 inch fish, while yellow tangs run about 30$ for the same size
