Score!!

Thanks for the info on it!
Can you share the website or tel # of your lfs? I am in Florida so I'd like to see if I could possibly get one out here.
Are these fish from the Pacific or Atlantic? Probably Pacific.

A quick Google search revealed a lot of suppliers of this fish, including some that are sponsors, here on RC. The LFS is Aquatic Dreams and their website is

Distribution of Acreichthys tomentosus includes Indo-West Pacific: East Africa to Fiji, north to the Ryukyu Islands, south to New South Wales (Australia). Recently recorded from Tonga, as well.

Figured I'd post an updated photo that I took, yesterday.

I moved the colony, from in front of one of my powerheads, as it seemed to be getting a very slight algae growth, on a couple branches, directly in line with the powerhead.

My cali tort grows a lot. I have several frags around my tank and I'm not sure what to do with them all.

I have one "frag" that with combined branches is about 17" (total inches in combined branches, not across).

I thought about it. The only thing keeping me from it is that I DO NOT want Xenia in ANY of my tanks...lol. Knowing my luck, I'd put it in my frag tank, sell some of it, maybe even all of it, quickly, only to find it growing in the tank, a month later! Nope! Been there done that!

I can SOOO relate to that. I had some damn Xenia in my tank that would NOT go away! I finally took everything else off the rock it was on...took that badboy outside...and then dunked it for 20 minutes in a bucket with muriatic acid! DIE YOU BASTARDS!! HA HA HA! :blown:

Only trouble was...In my fury fraught rage to kill them I didnt quite think the plan through. Now what do I do with a rock that's covered in acid?? Cant exactly put it back in my tank.

LOL. Oh well. I didnt care...they were all gone!! MUAH AHH AHH!!!:lol2:

For future reference, the Muriatic Acid becomes inert, within about 30 minutes. A good rinse, in vinegar water, then freshwater, and you're good to go. Depending on the amount of die off, on the rock, and the size of your tank, it may start a mini-cycle though, once you put the rock back in the tank.
