Scored on a fish purchase

Pretty psyched about a new purchase over the weekend. I stopped by LFS and managed to find a naoko fairy wrasse for sale. They were selling him as a whipfin fairy wrasse for $69.99 before an additional 20% off. I even told them what they had but I don't think they were all that familiar with them. They sold me him for the whipfin price. Gotta love getting a fish like that for that price. :D

He is in a breeder's box acclimating to his tankmates for a couple days. The christmas wrasse is king in my tank and why I only see my potter's before lights are on in the mornings. Hopefully he stands his ground well enough. I did do some rescaping on half the tank over the weekend so hopefully it will ease tensions.

I personally dont think so. Though I could be wrong. Do you have other fairy wrasses? Id be more worried about them, esp if you have females. They are very amazing show stopping fish, but sometimes can be a SOB.

He's the only fairy. Mainly a mix of wrasses.

I will definitely post a pic later.

congrats, i got an XL purple tang for free when i bought a tank on CL. i love it when people don't know what they have... :) Can't wait for pics.

Congrats! I miss mine. It became fish jerky even though I have a cover on my tank.

The naoko was released yesterday and had been in hiding. This morning around 7 am I captured a few shots of him out. Be warned of the poor photo quality (dark tank, flash, and it's a phone pic).

interesting. I saw one at my LFS a few days ago. I guess fish come into the country in groups.

It's the first one I've seen in person. Pretty unique coloration.

Yeah. I have seen them popping up on a few sites more and more the last couple months. It was the first time I had seen them in a store locally. They new what they got but they only charged for whipfin since that's what they paid for and ordered. Pretty cool on their part.

They are very brightly colored. I'm looking forward to seeing him out and about once he adjusts to my xmas wrasse.
