Scrape off coraline algae?

Back off glass is pretty much full of ugly coraline algae...any negative impact if I just scrape off?

Most people love coraline algae, but if you don't, by all means scrape it off. The fragments that fly around the tank will actually help it spread though. But you can always scrape it off the glass where you don't want it.

If you have a lot of it and scrape it all off, your calcium, alk and magnesium consumption may decrease.
In particular, coralline algae incorporates magnesium at a very high rate, higher than most corals.
