scratch on glass tank

I noticed a small scratch on the outside of my oceanic tank. What is the best way to fix it. It is a minor scratch and on the side and really an annoyance more than anything. Any ideas?

In theory, the scratch can be buffed out, but in practice, the buffing can distort the view enough to make it worse than living with the scratch. How deep is the scratch? Can it be felt with a fingernail?

two ways to fix this: 1) you can buff it out with tooth paste. although this will not work that well, it will make the scratch less apparent. 2) they sell a special rouge and buffing wheel that you can hook up to a drill and buff it out. it is made for glass so it will not impair the view. the best thing to do is to call your local glass/window shop and they can probably even give you a little bit of the polishing rouge that you will need and then just buy the wheel from the hardware store. if the tank is not setup, then just take it into the glass shop and they can do it for you in five minutes.

I'd just live with it. The buffing will make it less obvious, but add some distortion to the view in the buffed area.
