i have a acrylic tank i purchased but i want to take some scratches out. i tried novas 2 but there are a few deeper scratches that it wont take out. i also have 1500 sandpaper. should i use a buffer machine instead? are there any other tricks i have to do the hole tank its a 125 gallon.

i tried a buffing machine and it helped a lot. i still have a bunch of little scratches mainly on the bottom from the rocks. ive been using novus#2 should i get #3 or is it safe to try a hand glaze for cars??? has anyone tried different things?

i was in the same boat and if i did it again i would have paid someone to do the scratches but you can go with a heavier sand paper just takes more time. its just like alluminium that you can polish out the worst scratches. thay have 5000 grit paper. yes you can use a buffer but i would not use any buffing solution on the inside. good luck ,i hate my scratches.

Be careful if your using a power tool to buff acrlyic scratches ... used a dremel type tool once and had some problems. Sometimes patience/elbow grease comes in handy.
