scratches in glass.

one of my tanks has some scratches and I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get rid of the scratches or at least make them less visible.

It is glass, not acrylic.

Thanks in advance

I had this issue with my old system. After doing considerable research, there is not much you can do. The only solution that I have heard can work is if you drain the tank and then with special jewelry polishyou polish down the scratch with a drill. However, I have also heard that this takes a lot of patience and a lot of effort. Also, if not done correctly, you could wind up distorting the glass and have it look a lot worse than just the scratch.

I have a 155 gallon bow front that the previous owner used fine grit sand paper or steel wool to remove calcium spots on the front panel... didnt even see them until it was in my wall and full of water

after looking around for quite some time trying to decide if its worth buffing out, or buying a new tank... i came to the conclusion its worth saving for a few months and getting a new tank, then selling the tank with or without buffing the scratches to make some money back

yep, I've never found a good solution to clearing scratches from glass either. nothing like acrylic, unfortunately.
