Screen Mesh

I'm looking for the 53 micron screen mesh, and it's costing an arm and a leg for the material.

Is there an alternative? Coffee filters?

Thanks,

Metal screens (SS) do have their place. We incorporate them in areas where we have major cleaning daily. This would be for continues flow through systems for rotifers and such were daily scrubbing is needed and done. In a case like that the plastic mesh gets "worn" out and the mesh actually opens up a bit allowing larger particles (rotifers, etc) though it.

We scrub them, use a pressure washer and every so often leave them in an acid bath for a while.

How about the quality of 50 Micron Nylon Mesh Filter Bag that is for sale on Ebay (4" diameter & 14" long)??
Did anybody buy it to make rotifer sieve?

I've used them. They're fine for less the commercial uses, ie. fine for hobbyists.

Try to find poly and not nylon. Nylon tends to stretch over time. Guess I should have mentioned that tid bit earlier.
