Screen Shots- how do you save?

Hi guys,
Here's a stupid question... how do you save the screen shots? I have Windows XP Home Edition and can't figure out how to save the screen shots to show people what setting I have??? Sorry, I'm computer illiterate so step by step details is need Thanks!

select the active window that you whnat to capture, hold down the ALT key and press the Print Screen on the top right hand side of your keyboard.

now go into paint (or other grawing sofware) and hit CTRL + v (edit > paste)
