Screw in Actinic Only?

I've seen the screw in 50/50 bulbs. Does anybody make one that is 100% actinic?

This would be nice to help the nano MH's....

If you just want the color and are not worried about growth, buy a "party" bulb at wally world/home despot.
Can get blue, red, green whatever you want.

Another option is a mini blue/blacklight bulb.
You can get those at a head shop.

I'm thinking he wants the actinic for the fluorescing effect on corals, which just blue light won't do (much).

Slakker that is exactly why I want the actinic.

I've seen those blue lights, or even red and green ones, my LFS actually sells them. I think they are intended for betta tanks and the like. I'm not sure if they will give the same colour effect as 'true' actinics.

Thanks for the idea though. It actually made me search around my room for a blacklight bulb, I found one. It turns out that it makes a killer moonlight!

It isn't a very strong bulb so it wasn't overpowering for a night light. On the downside it is still a incandescent bulb so it was throwing heat out all over the place - no big deal though.

Thanks.

I could see myself getting something like this 9W x 2 fixture, ripping it apart and only using the actinics...

If you're going to consider buying a fixture just for part of its guts, then I would go the single bulb PC retrofit. You'd get more wattage too. :)

Yeah... I would go that way.... when I first set up a tank I bought a coralife 32W fixture... it would have been much better to make my own.
