Hello all. I have a scribbled angel in a hospital tank. He was in display, but developed some foggy eyes, so I took him out and put him in a 25 gallon Rubbermaid (36 long, by 14, by 10 or so) I have a heater in there maintaining 78 degrees, and hang on back filter.
I am using maracyn plus, which is all I was able to get. It says it treats popeye, ulcers, fin rot etc.
I tried feeding the first day I placed him in there, but showed no interest. He is not laying down, but more or less staying the bottom corner of tank. Question is, how long before eyes start clearing up, and to avoid ammonia issues, because I know this tank is virgin and no bacteria in it, should I feed once a day, and ten minutes later siphon out all uneaten food, and replace with saltwater? Or is there a better, less stressful way of doing it?
Also, with maracyn products, it says treat day 1,3,5, but how long before you typically see any improvement in his eyes? Also I read on some antibiotics, to double dosage, does that apply to maracyn plus?
Thanks
