SCRK logo design contest - win a free yearly membership + bragging rights!

Hello all,

SCRK needs a logo. We are going to have a design contest for our logo. Our membership will vote on the winning entry. First prize is a yearly membership to SCRK ($25 value) plus bragging rights when you see our banner, logo, etc...

So here are the rules:

- The logo design will be used for
--- SCRK.org website
--- Business Cards/Membership cards
--- Flyers etc
--- Banners
--- As an SCRK banner ad for other sites

- We prefer vector output (illustrator) or if not, 600dpi+ (layered photoshop preferred).
--- The logo, design may be blown up to banner size (8 to 10 feet) so keep it all high rez

- Multiple variations of same design (portrait, landscape, streched, skinny, etc) is best.

- What needs to be in the logo:
-- The acronym for the club (biggest) SCRK
-- The name of the club in full (smaller) "Southern California Reef Keepers"
-- The website "www.scrk.org" or just "SCRK.org" etc...

- Please do not rip off copyrighted works, and do not steal someone elses coral pictures for the logo or background without getting permission.

- Please send all entries to me. I do not need the original artwork (until you win of course). Use this email:

- Submission deadline will be November 30th at midnight. This is open to members and non-members alike...

the bad part of the way i design is that they are usually two or three colors... LOL... i use vector artwork... but we'll see... it would be tight if i got another year free and all i did was fiddle on the laptop... like if i don't do that enough... HAHKAHADHKL;fjdsalkfjlsdf...

the old one could've use a bit more time, and i think if we all do a group effort on this, we might get something that isn't so rushed and

The old banner was 6 or 8 feet if I remember correctly.

One quick update everyone:

Make sure you can provide versions of the logo with and without the text. For instance our website may just need the logo without SCRK.org on it, etc.
