scum on top of water

I have a 120 gal tank 48x28x17. My main pump is a mag 12. That pulls water from the wet / dry to the single output in the tank.

I noticed that there is some scum on top of the water and am starting to think that its a flow issue. On the right where the water exits from the pump the water is disturbed but the left looks kind of stagnet.

I have one p402 pump on the right side pushing water to the left.

I have a rio 2100 from a old tank, do you think theres a place in the tank to put it to help?

thanks in advance

Check the height of the water column and its relation to the overflow holes in your overflow box. If the water surface is above the holes you are skimming below the surface. Just lower the pipe in the overflow box to adjust the water height and see if it helps.

Hope this helps. If its not the water height we'll look at something else.

by the way the tank is looking good. Are you sure its 120gal and not 90 gal? And you might consider more live rock.

let me know if the water height is the issue or not.

actually its a 110. Looks like a 90 but its extra tall.

The problem was that the mag 12 filter was glogged up. Cleaned it out and its jamming again.

Yea, need more rock. Having trouble finding any good stuff locally.
