SCWD Question

I just received my SCWD and am wondering if it can be installed submersed in the tank? When I planned on using it, I must have misunderstood as I wanted to use it in conjunction with a powerhead for in-tank operation rather than connected to my return line.

Has anyone done this?

yes it can be submerged in the tank,

as long as the pump is powerful enough it will work, last time I check the more power the pump has the faster the switching,

Tell you what, I am most disappointed. Hooked everything up as instructed and I am getting an ear-piercing screetch right out of the box. If its that loud, I can't imagine how it sounds under water. Poor fish...

there shouldn't be any noise coming from it,

I finally got it to work. Boy was it loud. I think there was air trapped inside so the gears were whining. Don't know for sure but its working now.
