I found 2 small scypha sponges on some rock mixed in with hair algae. can any one tell me about it. Is it good or bad? What does it eat? What eats it? Any little thing about them willl help.

I found some on some live rock of mine as well. From my understanding, they're harmless filter feeders. If you really want to feed it, try some phytoplankton. It's nothing to be concerned about. It's just one of the perks of live rock. As for that hair algae, the scypha sponge has no connection with it, although I would concentrate of ridding yourself of that before it becomes a problem, if it hasn't already became one.

mmh, good idea getting the snails. I hate to burst your bubble, but just because creatures are eating the algae does not necessarily mean that the algae is quite gone.

Its better to get to the root of the problem rather than treating the byproduct of the issue.

Reduce feedings to every other day and perhaps shorten the light cycle as well if you dont have any super-light-dependent coral.
