Anyone ever kept a sea apple successfully?

They are so beautiful I would love to get one when I upgrade to a bigger tank. I would worry about it dying though and killing off the entire tank.

Anyone have any experience?

Yeah they scare me. They look awesome but afraid it would nuke my tank so never had the guts to try one

I would be worried about it getting enough food. They are filter feeders.

I've had one for about 8 months now. I do watch it closely and if it starts not looking right, I'd get rid of it in a minute. Agreed, they are neat to watch, especially when they're feeding! I guess I just like the "oddballs"...

Sea apples are as about as hardy as any other cucumber (relatively hardy) -- however, if it does die and you're not there within 8-12 hours to pull it from the tank -- your other inhabitants are toast.
