This is just wrong. I can't imagine owning a business and comming in to find it in shambles like that. Has to be heartbreaking. I hope they find whoever did it!!

I also have a personal problem when innocent animals die.

Good idea....i scour all the boards looking for stuff and selling stuff...I, for one would spot stuff if we had pics to compare it to...

I'm guessing it was more than one person who could do this. They probably used buckets to get the fish out of there. I have an idea why they smashed the tanks. It makes it easier to catch the particular fish they wanted when the tank is low to empty on water. You think about it, they would want to be in and out of there as quickly as possible. There wouldn't be time to fiddle with catching each fish individually. Now, why they broke every single tank I do not know, unless they wanted something from each tank. They probably threw the parrot in the water to keep it quiet. Poor thing was probably squawking out of sheer terror.

I hate to bring this up but, when things like this happen it's usually a inside job. Anyone remember before saltycritter and aquatic tech we had Under sea world in lakewood. They were the leader in the area with reef stuff.
The owner set fire to the place to collect insurance money on it, but when he set the fire it spread to 3 other stores connected to that building. I think he ended up getting 15 years for that. I new the guy and never would have thought he would do that.

The thing about that is that I have a really hard time believing that he would purposely injure his own parrot... That's not to mention the shear lack of regard one would need for all the fish that were killed. But I guess it is possible. I never knew him all that well. Talked to him on a number of occasions. He's kinda eccentric, but I didn't get the vibe from him that he could do something like this. Also, if he rebuilds his store, I'd have a hard time seeing how he would profit from this in any way. I mean, he'd basically be back to square one.

I believe that. It seems that honest people get screwed by insurance companies, meanwhile dishonest people rake in the money from them.

This guy needs to have a hammer smash his ______ and see how it feels to have something personal of his violated. Let's Be on the lookout for real good deals on corals and fish. I agree. Check the emergency rooms, for a mysterious sting? I hope he can't feel his arm. I haven't had the chance to check this place out yet and was planning a trip this weekend then someone has to go and ruin it for me. Turd.

Thanks for the info Eric.. Always wondered what happened to that store. At the time they were about the only store in Northeast Ohio that even carried saltwater fish. They also had the best selection of freshwater fish.. What a shame.
