Sea Goblin?

A hobbyist in my area is selling his Sea Goblin. Does anyone have any experience with these guys?

I'm assuming they kinda just lay around, but do they have much of a personality? What are you feeding me and how often?

They stare really well, lol.

My female doesn't do much of anything. My male (assumed) protects her fiercely. I have to be very careful when my hand is in the tank.

They eat 1 silverside once a week.

I've kept this pair for coming up on two years now. They re either a female and a male, or two females. I think female/male because of the differences in behavior. They aren't externally sexable.

I also believe you have a M-F pair, Alissa. Our "pair" of reds acted the same way.

We've kept Inimicus sp. stingfish for close to five years now. We've kept I. didactylus and still keepI. japonicus, which was our first goblin.

We feed it 3x a week, along with our other "things with stings", and it gets a varied diet of SW fish flesh, shrimp, lobster, squid, bivalves, etc. and feeds from a "stealth stick".

They aren't the most active fish in the world, but they do have their own personality, and are interesting-looking fish, to be sure.

They are indeed venomous, and have a much more potent sting than lions/scorpionfish, more on the order of the waspish in terms of toxicity. However, they aren't deadly by any means, and the only way I can see anyone getting poked is by putting their hand directly on the fish.

That being said, they're pretty easy-care fish. You'll need substrate for it suitable in depth and grain size for it to bury itself, as it will spend a fair amount of time like this:

They're definitely one of my faves...how can you not love a face like this?

Awwww...such a cute mug, Greg! :p

I find it interesting that yours eat more frequently than mine. I offer food several times over the week, but they generally only take it once a week on average. Sometimes krill or squid, but silversides are their fave.

Ours "tells" us when it's "feeding day, Alissa...spoiled, I guess. However, we have had sedentary fish that tend to eat less than our other more active fish.

Been missing your photos lately...you must be busy like the rest of us!

My male starts swimming in the water column when "they're" hungry. :)

I know, totally swamped! And I had to "down-grade" cameras because of my RA, so I'm depressed, lol.
