I am buliding a new seagrass/ macro algea lagoon sump on my system.. will be like 10x4x30" or so.. might go 14x4x30 we will see.. what i was wondering is.... would homedepot sand be ok to use for the sea grasses? i plan on like an 8" bed across 3/4 of the lagoon and the last little part would be the equipment area.. i was goign to just get the sand a lot of people are using for there remote dsb and maybe get some nice olotic sand for the top inch or two... what do you think? would tha tbe ok???

6 inch would be enough for the most demanding common seagrasses, Thallasia. Halodule and Halophila will both do okay in 2-3 inches.

I have also been reading about the rdsb... i have a BB tank now and hi nitrates are a problem most likley because of my HUGE bio load.. will probaly go with 8" just to be safe... maybe 10" gotta go do som reasearch on the RDSB as well....
