i have lost 3 sea hares in about 1 and 1/2 months i was told very hardy wich i believe. the fist one i lost to a power head ,i had to peel him off . i then put filters on the intakes so i could keep another. #2 lasted about 4 days then found on bottom belly up quite bummed [ maybe old or sick dont know] after a few days i thought i might try another but no luck#3 lasted about as long and same demise as 2nd one only this time i found the purple linka on top of the hare . an expensive meal for the star. will worms or fish bother the sea hare or is it the star fish? although i thought the star fish was a scavenger

perhaps you dont have enough algae for it to eat. Ive had a sea hare for about a year. He's always out and about grazing.

How are you acclimating them? Are you having trouble with any other inverts? What are your water parameters? Do you have any idea what kind of sea hare you have?

I presently have enough hair algae and what not to feed a herd of sea hares, well that might be an over statement but it wasn't hungry. my parameters are temp.78-80 s.g.1025, nitrate10-20 phosphates0.1, amonia0-.25, ph 8.2,alk8.3-8.6,cal.430-440,iodide.01 no not sure as to what type of sae hare i have. the last one i forgot and left it in the bag floating for a long hour. i dont drip water but i do add water with small cup. everything else seems ok. lfs dude seems to think it might be the blue leged hermit crabs but i have my douts about that

They are said to be dripped acclimated for at least 2 hrs...

I did not do that to mine, I floated mine for 1 hrs and added a syringe of tank water every 5-10 mins. for an hour or so but not the 2 hr suggested by other online stores... he lived for a long time till he met my 1500 seio pumps the second time... wasn't there to save him the 2nd time. Cleared up my tank of HA, Caulerpa (YES) and supplement him with nori when not much algae is present.

You need to acclimate it better, plus you have a nitrates, and more worringly, readable ammonia. Until these are under control i wouldnt try anymore

dont just keeping adding more hoping they will survive. Its unethical to kill animals. You need to address the chemistry problems javeo mentioned. what does 0-.25 in ammonia mean. When it comes to somethng that deadly, it makes a big difference.
