sea hare?

Thinking of getting a sea hare to control my hair algae problem...
is there a specific species to get? are they reef safe?
I have a 150g SPS tank

the dolabella sea hare is reef safe and eats hair algae. a better option in my opinion is the mexican turbo snails. u need to trim and shorten the hair algae, otherwise they wont touch it.

Yeah I would highly recommend the turbo snails. Also, high nitrates and phosphates are what fuel the algae.

test shows no nitrates or phosphates...
or the algae "eats" it??

Yeah, the algae is consuming them. Which is why the tank parameters seem "perfect or normal." The turbo snails will help and eat other stuff too. Try feeding a little less and do some water changes.
