i was wondering if there is such a book as that ????? i would like a book that describes all the different species i have been getting some ponies in and i would like to be able to i.d them.if there is such a book please let me know i would love to ad it to my salty library!

i have a copy of Dr Burgess's atlas of marine aquarium fish
it has 3-4 pages of horses and 3-4 pages of pipefish also

In the library section of www.seahorse.org is a listing of some of the horses which are most readily available. There are pictures, along with number of tail rings, coronet slopes, coloring, description of specific body differences, areas they come from, etc.

I don't know of an all inclusive book. Alisa Abbott has written a few which may be helpful to you. I'm sure you can find them if you search her name. The best way to ID your horses is to buy them from reputable CB breeders. You can bet the breeders know what species they are working with. Also, the area the horses are from is a big giveaway. There are many TR hybrid horses coming in from Asia and Sri Lanka right now.
