I'm having a hard time figuring out a few details of setting this thing up.
I have the RM300:
Overall Dimensions: 36" L X 12" W X 20" H
Refugium Chamber: 16" L X 11 ½" W X 17" H
Sump Area: 15" L X 11 ½" W X 15" H
Lighting: 52 watts
Flow Rate: 900 gph
Number of Inputs: Two
I've also got a new Eshopps PF-1000 dual overflow to go with it.
I guess most would ditch the bio-balls in the first chamber, correct? Replace with what? LR rubble?
Then there's the refugium section. I have mud and live sand from an established small reef tank that will go in there, plus some chaeto and other macroalgaes stuck to a few pieces of live rock.
The next section is sponge which I guess is a bubble reducer, but won't that thing catch and filter out any pods that I might want to get back into the main display tank? Or how about the return pump, do they survive that ride? And eventually putting a skimmer in there, doesn't that eliminate the possibility of getting pods back into the display tank?
Was I dreaming when I thought that raising pods in the refugium would end up back in the main tank?
